Australian wardrobe size guide

Wardrobe hanging rail height

The right rail position depends on the garments you hang and how you organise each section. Common dimensions are a starting point; leave enough space for clothes to hang freely.

Long-hang rail height

A single long-hang rail is commonly positioned about 1700–1800mm from the floor. This can suit longer garments, but the length and variety of clothing in your wardrobe should guide the layout.

Double-hang rail positions

For a double-hang section, common rail positions are about 1000mm for the lower rail and 1800–2000mm for the upper rail. Check the usable hanging space between rails and make sure the garments you store will fit.

Plan around what you own

Measure representative garments and consider how often you use each section. Confirm the final rail positions and clearances on site with your installer.
