Accessibility at Carcasso
Carcasso is a drawing tool, so parts of it are visual by nature. This page says what works today and what we are still fixing. Tell us what gets in your way: [email protected].
What works today
- Everything in the menus, inspector, settings and dialogs can be reached with the keyboard; the focused control shows a visible ring; dialogs close with Escape.
- Buttons and controls are at least 44 px on touch devices (iPad and phone), and close/remove buttons carry names for screen readers.
- Status messages (saving, syncing, errors) are announced; form fields have labels.
- A ⌘K / Ctrl+K command palette and a search box in the inspector find any setting by name.
- Text and dimensions use high-contrast colours on the dark interface.
Known limits
- The plan, elevation and 3D views are drawings. Their numbers are also available as text in the inspector, the cabinet detail sheet and the exported PDFs.
- Some placeholder text in input fields is low-contrast; some inspector labels are small. Both are on the list to fix.
- There is no light theme yet.
Standard
- We work towards WCAG 2.1 AA. Automated accessibility checks are part of our test suite; the gaps above are the ones they and our own testing have found so far.
