What cabinet dimensions does the kitchen planner start with?
For a 2400 mm ceiling, the starting stack is a 125 mm kickboard, a 735 mm base cabinet body, a 20 mm benchtop, at least 600 mm to the overhead cabinets, a 900 mm overhead cabinet and a 20 mm shadowline. You can change these values in the planner.
How much clearance should I leave above a gas cooktop?
The planner's starting gap is 650 mm above a gas cooktop. Check the installation instructions for your exact cooktop and rangehood, and confirm the final layout on site.
Are the planner's appliance openings guaranteed to fit my appliance?
No. Appliance sizes and installation clearances vary by model. Use the manufacturer's installation guide to confirm the opening, depth, ventilation and service space.
Is the planner really free?
Yes. Designing in 3D, sharing a link and saving a photo of your design are free, with no credit card required. Paid plans exist for cabinetmakers, but you don't need one to design and share.
Do I need exact measurements to start?
No. A rough tape-measure of the wall width, height and depth is enough to start designing. You can change any measurement later and the whole design redraws instantly.
What happens after I design something?
Your design is saved to your free account. You can share it with one link, keep editing it, or use the built-in “get this built” request form if you'd like a cabinetmaker to look at it. Final sizes and pricing for a real job are always confirmed by your cabinetmaker after a site measure.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. Carcasso runs in the browser on iPad, Mac and Windows — nothing to install. Many people design on the iPad on the couch and share the link from there.
Do I need any design or CAD experience?
No. You type measurements in the same way you'd write them down, pick cabinets and colours from a visual library, and the drawing does itself.
Does it handle islands and corner cabinets?
Yes. You can plan L-shape and U-shape kitchens with corner treatments, and island runs render through the same 3D pipeline as wall cabinets.
