Plan a laundry around the machines and the trough first, then fill the gaps with cabinets. Real product sizes, in millimetres, with sources.
Checked against sources on 27 September 2026
Plan the appliances first. The two front loaders we checked are 600–602mm wide and 850mm high, but 659–661mm deep, so both stand proud of a 600mm bench. A 45 litre trough unit we checked is 565mm wide, 518mm deep and 870mm high. An accessibility guideline asks for 1200mm clear in front of laundry benches and appliances at its Gold level. Check your own model's installation guide for clearances.[1][2][3][4]
These are common sizes and published guidance, not rules. Every cabinet can be sized to the room and the people using it. Confirm appliance and fixture sizes against the exact model you buy.
