Colours and materials

Set colours once for the whole job, then change any room, cabinet, part or drawer front on its own.

How colour fields work#

Colour is typed, with suggestions. Start typing a name and pick from the list; a swatch beside the field shows the colour when the name is recognised. A chequered swatch means a name the app does not know — it still saves and prints, it just cannot preview. Swatches are a guide only: always confirm against a physical sample.

Board colours and paint colours#

Which list you see depends on how that surface is really finished:

  • Polytec / Laminex board range — carcasses, edge tape and board-type doors (melamine, laminate, Polytec).
  • Dulux / Taubmans paint range — sprayed 2-pac and polyurethane doors, and all wall paint.

The hint under the field tells you which range it takes. A wall-paint field never offers board names.

Style, material, finish and colour#

WordWhat it means
StyleThe door profile — plain, shaker, V-groove, glass, sliding, open and so on
MaterialWhat the door is made of — MDF, Polytec, 2-pac, thermofoil, veneer, glass, aluminium
FinishThe sheen — satin, matte or gloss
Colour / codeThe named colour — a board or a paint

Changing the style fills in sensible material defaults; you can still override them.

Set once, then override#

  1. Whole job — Room → Doors & colour (job default): style, colour, material, finish, grain, thickness and handle. Every new cabinet starts from here.
  2. Whole room — Room → Room defaults: the default door colour for new cabinets, one door style for the whole room, and (trade view) the room's carcass material.
  3. One cabinet — select it, then Front → Door style and Colour / code.
  4. One part — Finish → Parts: the colour of the ends, top, bottom, back, shelves, kick, bulkhead or drawer fronts on their own.
  5. One cell of the front — Edit cabinet face → pick the cell → Finish → Custom.

While a cabinet is still following the job or room, the field shows a Job or Room badge. Type a new value to override just that cabinet; the reset control beside the field puts it back.

Change the look of the whole room (simple view)#

In the simple view, press Change look (bottom left of the canvas). Change the look offers five whole-room styles: Light & simple, Warm timber, Soft greige, Bold dark and Classic shaker. Picking one restyles every cabinet so they match — any colours you set on single cabinets are replaced. Press ⌘Z to undo.

The box vs the doors#

Doors can be painted while the box is white board. Set the doors on the Front tab (or the job default) and the box on Finish → Carcass and Carcass colour. Edge tape and grain can be set for the whole cabinet or per part — see every part.

Walls and floor#

Each wall card in the Room panel has Wall paint (Dulux / Taubmans). Room defaults sets the Floor finish (concrete, timber, tile or carpet) and pattern, with plank or tile sizes. These change the 3D room, not the cabinets.
