The Library#
Open Library in the top bar (or press L). It shows cabinets for the room type you are in, grouped as Base, Drawers, Tall, Fillers & panels, Top cabinets, Appliances & fixtures, Corners, Components and Custom. (In the simple view some names are plainer: Wall cupboards, Spacers & side panels, My saves.)
Filter chips narrow the list: position (Base, Upper, Tall), width (≤450, 451–750, >750) and front (Doors, Drawers, Open). Show all rooms lets you use a cabinet from another room type. Recently used keeps your last picks at the top.
Families and variant chips#
Each tile is a cabinet family — for example one Base — doors tile rather than forty near-identical ones. The number on a tile is how many options the family has. Chips under the tile pick the option (which side the door hinges, how many sections, drawers or type) and the tile updates to match. Open the tile's details to see every option. The simple view shows the everyday choices; hardware and stock-code options are in the trade view.
Search the library#
Press / (or click the box) and type — Search cabinets, fillers, panels…. Search understands everyday words, so “bin”, “pot drawers”, “microwave” or “filler” all find the right family.
Place a cabinet#
- Drag a tile onto the plan — onto a wall, next to another cabinet, or onto an existing cabinet.
- Tap a tile. In the trade view the Inspector shows Cabinet · not on plan yet: rename it, set it up, then press Add to plan. In the simple view it is placed straight away.
Quick setup (simple view)#
In the simple view, right after you place a cabinet a Quick setup strip appears with that family's chips (door side, sections, type…). Tap a chip to swap the cabinet you just placed for that option. Its position, your name for it, a width you changed and its colours are kept.
Drag, snap and free-standing cabinets#
On the Plan, drag a cabinet along its wall; it snaps to its neighbours (stacked cabinets included). The SNAP toggle in the tools turns the grid, angle and wall magnets on or off. Drag the divider between two cabinets to move width from one to the other.
Drag a cabinet off the wall onto the floor to make it free-standing (an island). Drag it back onto a wall to rejoin the run.
Move, rotate, duplicate and delete#
With a cabinet selected, a small toolbar sits over it:
- Rotate — 90°, or 15° with Shift. [ / ] rotate by 15°.
- Nudge — arrows move 25 mm; with Shift, 100 mm. The keyboard arrow keys do the same.
- Delete — or press Delete / Backspace. A toast offers Undo.
Press D to duplicate the selected cabinet, Enter to open it in the Inspector, and Esc to deselect.
The cabinet editor (Inspector)#
Click a cabinet (in any view) and open Inspector (I, or Enter). With nothing selected, the Inspector lists every cabinet on the plan so you can pick one.
The top of the panel is always visible: Cabinet name, Width, Cabinet height and Depth (mm), the construction method, and Save to My Library. Depth is the overall depth including the doors — the carcass itself is cut back by the door thickness. Below that are five tabs:
| Tab | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Layout | Where it sits and its shape |
| Front | Doors and drawers on the front, hinges, handles, LED, kick heater, sliding doors, top cupboard doors |
| Inside | Shelves, rails, drawer boxes, runners, accessories and fittings, appliance cut-outs |
| Finish | Board, colour, edge tape and grain — for the whole box and for every part — plus kick, bulkhead and benchtop |
| Build | How it is made: top rails, sections, inner drawers, lift-up doors, blind corners, fingerpull rails, return panels, rangehood |
The simple view shows one shorter card instead (door look, colour, shelves and sizes).
Find a setting#
There are a lot of settings, so the Inspector has a search box: Find a setting (⌘ShiftF). Type what you want — “kick”, “hinge”, “edge”, “bench”, “reveal” — and pick the result; the right tab opens and the field is highlighted.
Layout tab#
- Position X / Position Y (free-standing cabinets), Lift off floor (the cabinet's height off the floor), Recess / proud (− / +), Slide along wall (− / +) and Rotation.
- Cabinet shape — Square, Curved end (rounded cabinet) with a radius, or Sloped (under-stairs) with the height at each end. Cap on top adds a capping board that follows the shape. A curved end is built from a bent skin in 3mm bendable ply, one layer per row, sized to the arc length.
Front tab#
- Door style — Plain MDF, Slim Shaker, Standard Shaker, V-Groove, Polytec Flat/Shaker, 2-Pac Flat/Shaker, Glass (Clear, Frosted, Reeded), Fluted, Cane Insert, Louvre, Mirror, Aluminium Frame, Sliding (top-hung or bottom-roll), Bifold, Pivot or Open (no door). Styles marked manual price draw correctly but are not priced automatically.
- Doors — Auto (one door up to 600 mm wide, two above), or force 1 or 2. Hinge side — Left or Right.
- Colour / code — see Colours & materials.
- Cabinet type — Base cabinet, Tall cabinet (full height) or Wall cabinet above.
Doors and hinges#
Open Door details for Construction (overlay or inset), Hinges (count), Hinge finish and Hinge type: Standard 110°, Wide-angle 170°, Zero-protrusion 155°, Blind corner, Bi-fold (door to door), Angled +45° (diagonal) or Glass door. Front overhang sets Front height and the overhang at the top, bottom, left and right (to cover a kick or close up to a bulkhead). Advanced doors has Door hinging (2-door bays). A single door is cut at the opening width minus 2.5mm; a pair splits it minus 5mm total, half each. Door height runs the full section. The hinge count is worked out from that drawn door height, so a shorter door gets fewer hinges.
Drawers#
On a drawer cabinet, Number of drawers sets the faces. Leave a face Height blank and the faces share the height evenly; set one and it keeps that height while the rest divide what is left. Filler left / Filler right narrow a single face. Drawer boxes and runners are on the Inside tab.
Handles#
Handle: in from edge and Handle: up / down position the handle. The handle type for the job is set in Room → Job details; a handleless look uses a fingerpull rail.
LED lighting and kick heater#
Tick LED strip — under bench or under overhead or LED strip — inside the cabinet, and choose how it switches: on the room circuit, a door sensor, a motion sensor or a touch dimmer. Kick heater — grille in the kickboard adds a heater grille to the kick.
Edit cabinet face (doors over drawers, glass tops and more)#
The Edit cabinet face button opens a large front drawing of this one cabinet. Use it to mix doors, drawers and open sections on one front:
- Quick layouts: 3 drawers, 4 drawers, Drawer + door, Pot drawers, Door + open, Pantry drawers.
- Click a Band (a horizontal strip) or a Column cell, then set its part: Door, Drawers, Open shelf, False front or Rollout trays. Split bands, add a Vertical split, lock a band's height, or split evenly.
- Finish for the selected cell: Same as cabinet or Custom — its own colour and material, and for a door cell a glass type.
Glass doors and glass shelves#
For a whole glass front, set Door style to Glass — Clear, Frosted or Reeded. For glass in only the top part (drawers below), split the face with Edit cabinet face and give the top door cell a custom glass finish. Glass-front cabinets show their shelves and contents in 3D. Glass shelves are an accessory — Glass shelf supports under Accessories & fittings — and the Library has lit glass display cabinets. Choose Glass door as the hinge type.
Sliding doors#
Set Door style to Sliding (top-hung) or Sliding (bottom-roll). Sliding panels, Panel overlap (mm) and Panel face (for example mirror) appear on the Front tab.
One set of sliding doors across several cabinets#
A real robe has one sliding set over the whole opening. On a sliding cabinet, Sliding doors across lists the stretches of neighbouring cabinets the set can span (for example “3 cabinets: … → … · 2700mm”). Pick one and press Sliding doors across these. The panel count, overlap and face are then set on the first cabinet of the run. One set per cabinet instead undoes it.
Tip-out sink tray#
The kitchen Sink base family has Tip-out 900 and Tip-out 600 options: the false front above the door tips forward onto a sponge tray. You can also add a Tip-out sink tray to any cabinet from Accessories & fittings.
Inside tab#
- Shelves (count) and Shelf thickness.
- Components — add a Rail, Shelf, Drawers, Pull-out, Wine or Open section inside the box (hanging rails, internal drawer stacks). These are internal fittings, not the front — use Edit cabinet face for the drawer fronts you see.
- Drawer system (standard box, Blum Antaro, Blum Tandem, Hettich Atira, metal-sided), Runner type (full-extension soft close, push to open, undermount, ball-bearing, heavy duty 70 kg+, ¾-extension roller), Slide length and each drawer box height.
- Appliances & cutouts — sink, cooktop and appliance openings (see Appliances).
- Room-type extras: laundry tubs and washer/dryer spaces, vanity basins, desk height for studies, and so on.
Accessories & fittings#
Tick fittings by group — Waste (pull-out bins), Corner (carousel, magic corner, LeMans), Drawer (cutlery insert, dividers, knife block, spice tray, under-sink U-shape drawer, tip-out sink tray, pot & lid organiser, plate pegs), Pull-out (wire pull-outs, larder, towel rail, trouser and shoe racks, ironing board, keyboard and printer slides) and Storage (pull-down hanging rail, key hooks, charging strip, valet rod, glass shelf supports, plate rack, tray dividers, wine rack, pinboard). They appear on the door & drawer schedule.
Finish tab#
The top of the tab sets the whole cabinet: Carcass (White HMR, MDF, Colour board or Plywood), Carcass colour, Edge band (colour/material) and Grain (Auto, Vertical, Horizontal).
Every part: on/off, colour, size, board, edge tape and grain#
Under Parts — colour, size, on/off there is one row for each part — Doors, Drawer fronts, Carcass (whole box), Left end, Right end, Top, Bottom, Back, Shelves, Kick, Bulkhead and, where present, the top cupboard. Each row carries that part's own settings, labelled by part, for example:
- Turn a part off — untick Left end panel, Bottom panel, the back or the kick (a cabinet with no kick sits on the floor).
- Left end colour, Left end depth, Left end thickness, Left end board.
- … edge banding — Auto (standard rule), T, B, F, T,B,F, ALL or NONE — and … edge colour.
- … grain — Auto (cabinet rule), V — vertical or H — horizontal.
- Doors: Door thickness (mm) and Reveal. Drawer fronts: Drawer front colour (blank = match the doors).
- Kick: Kick height, Kick setback, Kick width. Bulkhead: Bulkhead height, Bulkhead depth, Bulkhead colour.
- Back: 16mm by default. Set it to No back, or a custom thickness of your own. Fitting is inserted between the top and bottom by default; switch it to sit behind the carcass instead.
Benchtops and splashbacks#
On kitchen cabinets the Finish tab has Benchtop material (laminate or stone), Benchtop colour and Benchtop thickness, and Splashback (for example match benchtop, plain panel or subway tile) with Splashback colour and Splashback finish. Stone is recorded on the drawings and quoted separately. The benchtop is drawn and listed as one connected run per wall, not cut per cabinet — a run around a corner is a joined piece.
Build tab#
- Top — solid top panel, rails (on flat or on edge, board or timber) or no top.
- Carcass sections — One box, 2 part or 3 part with fixed shelves between.
- Inner drawers (behind doors) and Runner grade.
- Front action — Swing, Bifold, Roller / tambour, Top hung or Pull-out; Lift-up system for overhead flaps (Aventos HF, HK, HK-S, HK-XS, HL, HS).
- Return panel (left, right or both ends) and Fingerpull rail (handleless) — flat or L-shape.
- Ticks for a vertical partition, a rail between door and drawers, no top or bottom panel, 32 mm shelf-pin drilling, an applied face panel, a ladder-frame kickboard, an L-shape cabinet, an integrated fridge or a microwave box, and Bins (litres, comma separated). An L-shape cabinet gets a solid back on each wall leg and one L-shaped top and bottom (the inside corner notched out), with a kick along both legs.
- Blind corner mechanism (plain blind box, Cornerstone Maxx, Cor Fold kit, magic corner), Blind fixed panel width and colour, and which side backs into the corner.
- Rangehood — none, vented (ducted out) or recirculating.
Top cupboards, top boxes and bulkheads#
Wardrobes and tall cabinets can carry a top cupboard. On a wardrobe the Height stack card (Front tab) shows kick → body → open gap → top cupboard → bulkhead against the wall height; turn the top cupboard on there. On a pantry, tick Top cupboard on the Front tab. The top box then has its own Top door style, Top door colour, Top carcass colour, Top back colour, Top shelf colour and Top cupboard height. The bulkhead above a cabinet is a part on the Finish tab; room-wide heights are in Room → Height stack.
Appliances, including branded models#
Appliance cabinets (dishwasher, oven towers, fridge surrounds, microwave housings, washer and dryer spaces) are in the Library under Appliances & fixtures and in the Tall and Base groups. To size an opening from a real product, open Inside → Appliances & cutouts, choose the appliance type and + Pick a model… under Branded model (maker's cut-out). There are 78 Australian models from Bosch, Electrolux, Fisher & Paykel, Franke, LG, Miele, Samsung, Smeg and Westinghouse. Picking one sets the housing or benchtop cut-out; if the cabinet is too small you get a warning. The panel shows whose spec it came from — always confirm against the install sheet that ships with the unit.
Fillers and end panels#
To put a board beside one cabinet, drag Filler or Side / end panel from Library → Fillers & panels (search “filler” or “panel”). There are also half, curved and slanted panels and a scribe mould. Change their width and depth in the Inspector. For a strip along the whole wall, use the wall card's Fillers & end panels fields instead.
Save a cabinet to My Library#
Set a cabinet up the way you like, then press Save to My Library in the Inspector. Give it a name and pick or create a folder. Find it later under My Library in the Library panel (All mine or its folder) and drag it in like any other tile. You can rename, move and delete saved cabinets and folders — jobs already using them do not change.
Section view#
The section button in the Inspector draws a side-on cut through the selected cabinet — kick, panels, shelves, drawers, door and benchtop — so you can check depths and clearances. It is a check drawing, not an editor.
