Plan, Elevation and 3D views

One design, three ways to look at it. Every change shows up in all three.

Switch views: 1, 2, 3#

The Plan, Elevation and 3D buttons sit in the top bar. Keys: 1 Plan, 2 Elevation, 3 3D. Click a cabinet in any view to select it.

Plan#

The top-down drawing. Place and drag cabinets, draw walls, add windows and doorways, and trace a floor plan. Zoom with the Zoom in / Zoom out / Fit to screen buttons (bottom right), the mouse wheel or a pinch.

Elevation#

The front view of every wall unfolded in a row, on one floor line, with kick, body, benchtop, splashback and top heights. In the simple view it is called Front view. Door swings are marked on the faces.

3D#

Drag to orbit, scroll or pinch to zoom. Click a cabinet then drag it to move it. Press 0 to zoom to fit.

The View panel#

Open View in the top bar while in 3D:

  • Camera: ISO, Front, Inside, Top and Reset.
  • Walls: none, back only or full box.
  • Realistic or Wireframe; Client for a clean presentation look (no dimensions or edge lines).
  • Open and Full open — swing the doors and pull the drawers.
  • Dims — dimension callouts in 3D. Explode — slide the cabinets apart.
  • Walk — see below.

Open doors and drawers#

In 3D: O opens or closes every door, Enter opens the selected cabinet, C closes the opened ones, F switches between a normal and a full swing, E explodes the view.

Walk mode#

Turn on Walk in the View panel to stand in the room at eye height. Move with W A S D or the arrow keys, hold Shift to go faster, and drag to look around.

Save camera angles#

The 1, 2, 3 buttons in the View panel are camera slots: Alt-click to save the current angle, click to go back to it. They last for this session.

Dimensions#

  • Press X to cycle how much the drawing dimensions: off → overall → per cabinet → full.
  • The Dimension tool (M) adds your own measurement: drag on the plan for a width or on the elevation for a height; in 3D, drag to measure (it snaps to 5 mm). Esc cancels.

Change what a dimension says#

Click a dimension's number to edit its label — for example “900 VIF”. This changes the text only, never the cabinet. Clear it to get the measured number back. To change a size, type it in the Inspector.

Notes#

The Note tool (N) pins a comment: click the plan, or a piece in 3D. Notes are for you and your drawings.

Check the design#

More tools → Check design (simple view: Will it fit?) runs quick fit and clearance checks on the current room — overlaps, cabinets that do not fit, and common trade rules — errors first, then warnings. An empty result reads No issues found on this layout. It checks your measurements; the final measure-up on site still decides.
