Create a share link#
Open Output and press Share (simple view: Share with family), or press ⌘⇧L. The link is copied (on a phone or iPad the share sheet opens) and stays in a box so you can copy it again. Paste it into a text, email or message. You need a free account to share.
Once a job has a link, Output shows Copy link (the same link again, with the date of the shared version), Update shared version and Regenerate link. Regenerate link is for revoking a link: it makes a new link and the old one stops working — use it if a link went to the wrong person. Links last 90 days.
What your client sees#
No login is needed. The page shows the job name, room, wall size and ceiling height, and:
- 3D view — drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom.
- See it in your room — places the design in their actual room in AR on an iPhone, iPad or AR-capable Android phone.
- Quote — only if you price in the trade view: the total and the GST, nothing else (no line items, labour or margin).
- Comments, and Approve this design / Request changes on shares from a signed-in account.
- Get this built on designs shared from the simple view.
Your version history and any traced floor plan are never included.
After you change a shared design#
A share link shows the design as it was when you last published it. Under Copy link, Output shows Shared version: <date> and, once you edit the job, You have unshared changes. Press Update shared version to put your latest design on the same link — nothing to resend, and your client’s comments stay. Nothing is published until you press it.
If your client already approved the design, that approval stays on record for the revision they approved (with its price). The link then shows the updated design as the next revision, awaiting their approval.
Comments#
On the share page your client can type a comment, optionally pointing at a cabinet, with their name and an optional email. You get an email. To read and reply, open the job and go to Output → Approval → Client comments; your reply (Send reply) shows on the share link. Jobs with comments show a badge on the dashboard.
Client approval#
Your client presses Approve this design or Request changes. Approval records exactly which revision was approved (and the price shown, if any) and emails you. Output → Approval shows “Approved by … on … — revision …”. If you edit the job afterwards it tells you so — press Update shared version for the client to approve the changes as the next revision. Invoices off the approved revision are coming soon — see Approvals.
Brief for my cabinetmaker (PDF)#
Output → Brief for my cabinetmaker (PDF) downloads a few plain pages a cabinetmaker can quote from: the 3D views, the plan, sizes, colours and finishes and a rough board count, plus a Before you sign page with an inclusions checklist and the design check. It is available in both views. On the Free plan it carries a watermark — see Plan Pack.
Client proposal (trade view)#
Output → Client proposal opens a clean proposal in a new tab — cover, 3D render, room plan, elevation and cabinet schedule, with no prices — ready to print or save as PDF. Allow pop-ups if nothing opens.
Get this built (simple view)#
Homeowners can press Get this built (bottom right in the simple view, and on a shared design) and leave a postcode, suburb, email and timeline (ASAP, 1–3 months or Just planning) to be matched with a local maker. Before you can send it, the form tells you who would build it and asks you to choose. If your suburb is on that business’s Sydney service-area list, it names a Sydney joinery business owned by the same person who makes Carcasso, and you pick either that business or waiting for another maker. Anywhere else you tick to let us pass your design to a maker when one joins, and we tell you who first. It is a request, not a booking or a payment.
