Getting started

Open the app, try it as a guest, create an account, and choose how much detail you want to see.

Try it without an account#

Go to carcasso.com.au/app/try. You can design straight away — no email, no card.

  1. What are you planning first? — pick Kitchen, Wardrobe, Laundry, Bathroom vanity, Pantry, Study, TV unit or Mudroom (or Not sure yet).
  2. How do you want to start? — Use a ready-made layout (recommended), I have rough measurements, or Just exploring looks.
  3. Pick a layout, then About how long is the main wall? (About 2.4 m … 4.2 m, or I’ll measure properly later).
  4. Pick a starting look — Light & simple, Warm timber, Soft greige, Bold dark, Classic shaker — or Skip this for now.

A bar across the top reads Designing as a guest — saved on this device only. As a guest your design lives in this browser only. Sharing, downloads, the cloud copy and AR need a free account: pressing any of them opens Create a free account. When you sign up, the app asks whether to Add it to my account — your guest design moves into your account and opens where you left off.

Create an account#

Go to carcasso.com.au/app/signup (Start your 14-day trial). Choose Continue with Google, or enter Work email and a password (at least 6 characters) and press Create free account. No credit card. You land in the app straight away.

To come back later, use carcasso.com.au/app/login (Welcome back): Google, or email and password and Sign in. Forgot password? emails you a reset link.

The 14-day trial#

Every new account gets 14 days of everything Pro has: all eight room types and unlimited jobs. As on every plan, exported PDFs carry a small Carcasso credit line ("Made with Carcasso · carcasso.com.au") in the bottom margin. The trial clock is kept on your account, so it is the same on every device. The top bar shows Trial · 14d (days left), and a banner offers Subscribe (you can Hide for today).

When the trial ends you move to the Free plan unless you subscribe. Nothing is deleted. See Plans.

Simple view and full trade view#

The first time you sign in, How will you use Carcasso? asks you to choose:

  • Renovating my home → the simple view: everyday words (cabinet, toe-kick, wall spacer, front view), one-tap placing, Change look, Will it fit?, Get this built, Rough quantities and a Brief for my cabinetmaker (PDF). Workshop exports are hidden.
  • I’m a cabinetmaker or joiner → the full trade view: trade words (bay, carcass, kickboard, filler, elevation), the full Inspector and the Workshop group in Output (quotes from your own rates and invoicing are coming soon).
  • Both → starts in the simple view.

Both views open the same job file — nothing is lost when you switch.

Switch between the views#

In a job, open More tools (the ⋯ button in the top bar) and choose Switch to full trade view or Switch to simple view. You can also search “switch” in the command palette (⌘K).

Your jobs (the dashboard)#

Your jobs lists every design. From here you can:

  • New job — opens Start a new room.
  • Start from a layout straight from the dashboard (Design your first room in under 2 minutes), or Start a blank room.
  • Search (Search by job or client name…), filter by room (All rooms…) and sort (Last edited, Name A–Z, Oldest first).
  • Open, rename, duplicate, export or delete a job from its card. Deleting shows a toast with Undo.
  • Import plan — open a .carcasso.json backup file as a new job.
  • Settings (gear), Subscribe, and Sign out.

A new account gets a Sample Wardrobe to look around in. If your business name is blank, a banner offers Settings so it can appear on your PDFs.

The Getting started checklist#

In your first job a small Getting started card tracks three things: Pick a room and set your wall size, Place or generate cabinets, and View it in 3D, then save or share. A short tour may also appear the first time — Skip it or step through with Next. Each tour card has a Learn more link into the in-app help.

Stuck? Email [email protected] — we reply within 1 business day. In the app, press F1 or open More tools → Help.
