Saving, cloud sync, versions and undo

Autosave and Save#

Changes save automatically every 20 seconds while something has changed. Press Save in the top bar or ⌘S any time. The dot beside the job name shows the state: Unsaved changes, Saving…, Saved. Rename a job by clicking its name in the top bar.

Cloud sync across devices#

Jobs are kept in this browser and, when you are signed in, in your account in the cloud (stored in Sydney). A job saved on your computer opens on your iPad once you sign in there with the same account; jobs only in the cloud show In the cloud on the dashboard and download when you open them.

If the cloud cannot be reached, you see Saved on this device — cloud sync failed, retrying; your work is safe on this device and syncs when the connection is back. As a guest (no account) everything stays on this device only.

If the same job changed on two devices#

Nothing is overwritten. Both copies are kept, and the app says Changed on another device too — both kept and moves you onto this device's copy.

Undo and redo#

⌘Z undoes, ⌘⇧Z (or ⌘Y) redoes; the arrows in the top bar do the same. Deleting a cabinet, or a job from the dashboard, shows a toast with Undo.

Version history#

Output → Version history opens Version history for the job.

• Save version saves a named snapshot. Versions are also saved automatically when you share the link or export a plan set, proposal or brief.
• The last 30 are kept (automatic ones are dropped first). They are stored with the job and are never on the client's share link.
• Rename, Delete or Restore this version. Restoring first saves a “Before restoring” version, so you can always get back.

Compare two versions#

Choose Compare and set Compare from and Compare to. A table lists each change (Room, Item, What, Before, After). With To set to Current, Show in plan outlines the changed cabinets on the plan; Clear plan highlight removes it.

Backup plan file#

Output → Backup plan file (.carcasso.json) downloads the whole job as one file — keep it, email it, or move it to another device. The dashboard's export button on each job card does the same.

Import a plan file#

On Your jobs, press Import plan and pick a .carcasso.json file; it opens as a new job. From inside a job, Output → Import a plan file… saves the current job and takes you to the dashboard where Import lives.

Duplicate, rename and delete jobs#

On the dashboard each card has Rename, Duplicate and Delete. Inside a job, ⌘D duplicates the job. Deleting removes it from this device and the cloud once the Undo toast has gone.
